How to make a Brisket Rub? All depends on what flavor you are trying to go for. We made one that will, in particular, go great with your corned beef brisket. At least a couple times a year if not a few my family makes corned beef and always goes for this smoked brisket rub. Flavors and aroma that come with this dry rub are just amazing.

Brisket Rub ready to be applied.

What is a brisket rub?

Combination of different spices that are well blended together and applied on a choice of your meat, in this case, is a brisket.

***This brisket rub contains no sugar, so it is a excellent choice if you are avoiding sugar in your diet. It is not spicy, contains no salt.

What makes a good brisket rub?

Right rub mixture has to have multiple spices that blend well and create great BBQ flavors.

Have you ever thought about using pickled spiced for a smoked brisket rub? Why not, look at these fantastic ingredients that most of the pickled spices already contain!

  1. Coriander
  2. Yellow mustard seeds
  3. Dill seed
  4. Allspice cloves
  5. Cinnamon
  6. Black peppercorns
  7. Chili
  8. Bay leaves
  9. Canola oil

Rub ingredients

Now to make this work for our beef brisket rub, we need to do couple things.

First would be adding ground paprika to add a bit of sweeter flavors to the rub mixture.

Second is using a small blender (We used baby bullet blender) to crack open all these wonderful spices and blend them well with paprika.

Applying the dry rub

Before we apply the rub, we need to make sure we pad meat with olive oil. Then gently apply the rub with your hands on both sides. This recipe is plenty for 3.5 pound cut of brisket. For best results, please make sure the brisket sits with the rub for a minimum of 2hrs in the fridge or overnight.
