I wanted to start our morning with a green healthy nutritious smoothie. Since our youngens wanted to include a banana and pineapple in it, I decided to go for Spinach Pineapple Banana smoothie with healthy Chia Seeds. So I met them in the middle, still having my spinach and powerful Chia seeds and since they blend well with banana, our toddlers didn’t complain.

Are spinach smoothies good for you?

Yes, big time! Spinach is low in fat, high in zinc, niacin, protein, fiber and many other great ingredients that are healthy for your body.

How to use Chia seeds in smoothies?

It is very simple. We just blend the seeds with ingredient of our choice. In this smoothie case this was pineapple and banana which blends fantastic with Chia. We are recently made another smoothie with Chia seeds, feel free to take a look.

The easiest way is to blend them with your smoothie!  Take a look at the picture below. Chia seeds combined with pineapple, banana, coconut milk and blended for 10-30 seconds.

The last step is to combine Spinach and Pineapple/Banana into one glass! It does not get easier than that. 🙂

Can you use frozen spinach in smoothies?

Yes, as a matter of fact, we do that quite often due to fresh produce not lasting long. Freezing spinach is easy you just need a freeze-safe bag. We usually measure two cups per bag and freeze green vegetables for later use.
